CITY CAMOUFLAGE

서울 버스 정류장을 기반으로 한 전시 프로젝트 «2022 서울 아트스테이션» “미팅 포인트 - 현재” 에 ‹CITY CAMOUFLAGE›라는 작업으로 참여했습니다. 🚌

We participated in the exhibition project 2022 Seoul Art Station — based on Seoul’s bus stops — with a work titled CITY CAMOUFLAGE, as part of the section Meeting Point – Present. 🚌

작업 노트:
생물은 환경과 상호작용하며, 때때로 어떤 개체는 환경과 동화되어 구별할 수 없기도 합니다. 서울에서의 삶은 환경과 구분하기 어렵습니다. 오늘날 거대한 도시 시스템으로 발전한 서울에서 사람들은 공원을 거닐고, 횡단보도를 건너고, 빌딩에서 업무를 보고, 서로의 얼굴을 마주하고, 야경을 감상합니다. ‹CITY CAMOUFLAGE›는 오늘날 우리를 둘러싸고 있는 다양한 물질과 형태를 환기시키고, 도시 환경의 일부로서 기능하는 우리 자신을 생각해 보게 합니다.

Designer’s Note:
Living organisms interact with their environment, and at times, some become so well-integrated that they are indistinguishable from it. Life in Seoul is much the same — difficult to separate from its surroundings. In today’s vast urban system, people walk through parks, cross streets, work in buildings, encounter each other’s faces, and admire the city lights. CITY CAMOUFLAGE evokes the diverse materials and forms that surround us and invites us to reflect on ourselves as components of the urban environment.
