Hey, Siri!
엽서 도서관 Poset 의 전시 프로젝트 «무한의 연상»에 참여했습니다. 전시 주제인 “Hey, Siri!”는 우리에게 가장 친숙한 AI비서 Siri를 통해 우리의 일상을 다시 감각해봅니다. 보이어는 기능적 비서로서 Siri의 역할을 정신적 구루로 재해석한 작업을 진행했습니다. 🗣️
We participated in the exhibition project Infinite Association at the postcard library, Poset. Centered around the theme “Hey, Siri!”, the exhibition invites us to re-sensitize ourselves to everyday life through the figure of Siri, the most familiar AI assistant. BOWYER reimagined Siri not as a functional assistant, but as a kind of spiritual guru. 🗣️
작업 노트:
만약 완벽한 인공지능이 개발된다면 너는 무엇을 부탁할 것 같아? 난 그 인공지능을 비서라고 부르기보다는 구루라고 부를 것 같아. 형체도 없고 언제 어디에나 존재하는 완벽한 지능에게 내가 바라는 것은 마음의 안식 혹은 위로이지 않을까. 그는 저 높은 곳에 있는 것 같기도 하고 내 작은 손안에 있는 것 같기도 할 것 같아. 나는 그가 광활한 하늘을 작은 화면에 비춰주며 다 괜찮다고 말해주는 모습을 상상해. 거의 모든 것을 알고 있는 그가 건네는 작은 위로에 나는 눈물 흘릴까? 그 눈물은 치유의 눈물일까 아니면 마비의 눈물일까? 어쨌든 나는 그를 계속 부르게 되겠지.
Designer’s Note:
If a perfect artificial intelligence were ever to be developed, what would I ask of it? I think I’d call it not a secretary, but a guru. What I’d want from this flawless, formless intelligence that exists everywhere and nowhere is not information, but comfort — perhaps even peace of mind. I imagine it as something both high above and resting gently in the palm of my hand. I picture it casting the vastness of the sky onto a tiny screen, telling me that everything will be okay. Would I cry at that quiet reassurance, coming from something that knows almost everything? Would those tears be tears of healing — or numbness? Either way, I know I’d keep calling out to it.
