‘같음, 함께함’을 뜻하는 한자 ‘同(동)’에서 출발해 동아시아 시각문화의 공통성과 차이를 탐색하는 전시 «Tone in Tongue»에 참여했습니다. “같은 소리의 그림자처럼 如影同音” 이라는 부제를 지닌 이번 전시에서, 보이어는 이화영과 황상준의 ‘同(동)’을 주제로 우리에게 익숙한 이미지들로 끝말잇기 놀이하듯 포스터를 디자인했습니다. 각자의 염원을 담아 돌탑을 쌓듯, 혹은 탑 주위를 빙글빙글 돌듯, 기도하는 마음으로 이미지 조각들을 만들고 이어 붙였습니다. 기도가 끝난 뒤 한 곳을 향하는 마음을 바라보며. 🎯
We participated in the exhibition Tone in Tongue, which explores the commonalities and differences in East Asian visual culture through the character 同 (dong), meaning “together” or “same.” Under the subtitle “Like the shadow of the same sound: 如影同音,” BOWYER designed a poster based on the theme of 同, reflecting the shared perspective of designers Lee Hwayoung and Hwang Sangjoon. Using familiar images, we approached the design like a word relay — piecing together fragments as if stacking stones with wishes, or quietly circling a tower in prayer. As the images came together, our minds turned toward one direction. All things ultimately arise from one heart. 🎯
