Two Layers
두 층은 한 개의 테이블과 여덟 개의 사물들로 이루어져 있다. 사물에 매직아이라 부르는 오토스테레오그램 패턴 이미지를 도배하였고, 우리는 이를 통해 타이포그래피와 놀이의 유사점을 은유적으로 드러내고자 했다. 그것은 첫 번째, 정해진 규칙이 있다는 것. 두 번째, 그것을 해독(풀이)하는 과정이 있다는 것. 세 번째, 그 과정 속에 즐거움이 있다는 것이다.
한편 오토스테레오그램에는 저마다 숨겨진 이미지가 있고 그것을 보는 방법은 테이블 귀퉁이에 적어 놓았는데, 보는 것에 성공할지는 장담할 수 없다. 본 작업은 패턴 이미지에 등장하는 아이콘들에 대한 헌사이자 그들의 유산에 귀속된 우리(이화영, 황상준)의 현기증에 대한 것일 수 있다.
Two Layers is consisted of a table and eight objects. It is papered by the patterned images with autostereogram also known as magic-eye, and tries to metaphorically show the similarities between typography and play. The first, there is a rule, secondly, there is a process of decoding and solving, and finally there is an amusement in the process.
On the other hands, we, Hwayoung&Sang Joon can not ensure that an audience will easily make it, even though there is the method of seeing written on the corner of the table. The work could be about our tribute to the icons in the patterned images and a dizziness of ours who vested in its legacies.
